What factors may cause the failure of the glass lined reactor seal?

Apr 17, 2022

Glass-lined reactors have very high requirements for their own sealing effect. Generally, they can be divided into mechanical seals and packing seals. Generally speaking, mechanical seals are widely used and widely used. When the materials in the glass-lined reactor are reacting, special attention should be paid to whether the equipment leaks, because generally many materials are flammable and explosive, and the consequences will be very serious in case of leakage.

1. The sealing failure of the glass-lined reactor mainly has the following forms: corrosion, heat loss, wear and installation, operation and other factors. After the mechanical seal for the kettle is disassembled, the sealing surface has no scratches and wear, so the physical damage of the sealing surface can be excluded.

2. There are many crystals and rust in the sealing cavity of the kettle. At the same time, combined with many manifestations of mechanical seal failure, it is preliminarily determined that the easy crystallization and corrosiveness of the transported medium are the main reasons for the failure of the seal.

3. The glass-lined reactor can be used at a temperature of 200 °C. Common corrosion locations include mechanical seal moving rings, shaft sleeves, static rings, and static ring seats. Some corrosive materials will also give metal shaft sleeves, dynamic Special corrosion caused by ring, static ring seat and sealing body.
