Description

Glass lined manhole is a necessary channel with glass lined cover for reactor and storage tank that capacity over 1000 liters. Generally, it is mounted on the top cover of the glass lined vessel. Workers can enter the reactor or storage tank through the manhole device for commissioning, overhaul, maintenance, cleaning and other operations during it shutdown.

Glass lined manhole is a glass lined steel cover that assembly and fasten by gasket and clamps to the H flange nozzle on the top cover of the glass lined reactor or storage tank. It can be add a glass lined protection ring, sight glass, other nozzles, spring balance device and hydraulic damper for quickly open.

GLASS LINED REACTOR MAINTENANCE

The crux of a long-time, healthy life service for glass lined reactor is an inspection and maintenance schedule that is designed for early find and detection of damage. A small crack or pinhole, if not repaired immediately, can lead to corrosion of the steel structure and could cause major damage to the equipment. The inspection process starts with a thorough check upon delivery of the glass lined equipment to the plant-site to ensure it was not damaged during transportation. Thereafter, the equipment should be inspected at regular maintenance intervals ranging from several times a year, to once every two years according to the severity of service. More-frequent or even continuous detecting may be conducted if the operating conditions are especially severe, or if damage is suspected.

A typical maintenance checklist for glass lined reactor should include: visual inspection of the lined glass; spark test for signs of lined glass layer failure; lined glass thickness detection; inspection of tantalum repair plugs and patches(if have); nozzle flange seal and connections; jacket flange seal and connections. As in conventional equipment, the list should also include the performance of motor and drive device, mechanical seal, lubricating system for bearing and reducer, electric control device and etc (if applicable).


CAUTION ITEMS DURING MAINTENANCE AND OPERATING OF GLASS LINED EQUIPMENT

◆Prohibit KNOCK/HIT onto the vessel body of equipment;

◆Prohibit weld components onto glass lined equipment interior or exterior;

◆Avoid freezing of the interior medium;

◆Prohibit operating with over-pressurization & over-temperature;

◆Prohibit use high-pressure cleaning exceeds 137 bar (2000 psi) or if the water jet is less than 30cm (12 inches) from the vessel wall, glass damage can occur. Additionally, abrasive particles mixed with the water can contribute to hydro blast damage as can water sprayed on a specific area for a prolonged period of time and contact to repairs such as patches or plugs;

◆Prohibit use washing liquid that can react with the feed material;

◆Prohibit start on motor by full material in vessel (if have);

◆Prohibit reversed rotation of Agitator (if have);

◆It is necessary to enclose a safety barrier to prevent any object from colliding to the vessel during operating.
